In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, ordering in has become a serious affliction of mine. I have become somewhat of an expert in the best takeaway near me, and I’m here to share my favourite takeaway restaurants with you!
Getting great takeaway seems to be a bit more difficult than getting quality dine-in sustenance. But don’t worry—you can still get amazing eats during the pandemic lockdown. Here’s a guide to the best takeaway and halal food near mein Melbourne western suburbs.
- Dukkah Restaurant
Dukkah is my number one favourite takeaway near me and the best spot for Middle Eastern cuisine in Melbourne. Their presentation is as great as thequality of their food, and I can’t get enough of their food. The kofta skewers and chicken tagine are both to die for—and it’s not easy to find great halal food near me.
Whether their dishes are served on their table or yours, the food is always cooked to perfection. You would think the prices would be higher when you see what you get, but everything is reasonable. This makes it my go-to spot for takeaway. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out.
Dukkah caters to every diet with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. They also cater to my favourite indulgences; on tap beer and boutique wine.If you like restaurants that combine authenticity with contemporary presentation, you have to try Dukkah!
- Footscray Kebab House
You probably see a pattern emerging. Clearly, I love Middle Eastern food, and I might have a kebab addiction. This joint is serves cheap eats and its reputation certainly proceeds it.
FootscrayKebab house is a hole-in-the-wall style storefront with good prices and portion-sizes. During non-pandemic times, the meats are roasted and sliced right in front of you, which adds to the anticipation of eating a well-prepared meal. You can choose between lamb, chicken and beef, all of which are delicious.
Even without the added excitement, their takeaway is just as good.
The Cornershop is a sweet little café that features fresh and locally sourced ingredients. While it is a bit pricey, you get what you pay for. I feel good about the foodbecause I know that it is ethical, fresh, and high-quality.
This gem serves up artisan food that does not disappoint. While they put on a modern coffeeshop vibe, their cuisine also features flavorful Middle Eastern and East Asian twists. Try traditional café eats alongside menu items such as dahl, haloumi, and falafel!
Their menu lists options for any special diet, and they have beer, cider, and wine. No matter what your preferences are, you’ll find something you like at Cornershop.
This is definitely my favourite spot in Yarraville, and I’m so happy they offer takeaway.
- 3 GRAINS
Located in Williamstown, 3 Grains Roman Artisan Pizza puts so much love into their pizzas you would think that an Italian grandmother prepared the dough herself. For the quality of the food, the prices are phenomenal. This is the best place to get pizza takeaway near me.
If you’re not a fan of pizza, don’t shy away just yet! They also offer salads, appetisers, pasta dishes, and desserts—and options for kids and specialty diets.
Adapting quickly to the new stay-at-home lifestyle we’re living, 3 Grains also offers complete dinner kits (with or without alcohol included!) for the home cooks.
This restaurant is not your typical take out. I like to save Porters for special occasionsbecause it is not cheap. With a storefront in Williamstown, Porters is a high-end, high-quality, highly-priced restaurant.
With menu options like oysters, charcuterie boards, quail, and scallops, Porters is the perfect place to get takeaway from for a romantic night in. Light some candles, and live a life of luxury for the night!
